We had to come and see what all the hype was about. OH EM GEE!!! The hype is legit! We didn't wait too long, had the Pig & Pickle Bloody and a Miche while we waited, which was a great touch! Diane was super hospitable and her recommendations were spot on! The service was also incredible. And I love sitting outside and taking in the beautiful mountainscape. So glad hubs is driving because I'm in a food coma. We will definitely be back.

The owner was so welcoming. The views were beautiful. The food was amazing. Truly, the coconut French toast was unlike anything we'd ever tasted before. We hugged the owner when we left. Highly recommend this restaurant.

If you're looking for amazing food, friendly service, and convenient location on your way into (or out of) town this is the place! My hubby and I were getting into town and looking for somewhere to eat before our tee time at Lake Tahoe Golf Course. Getaway Cafe was the first stop of our baby moon and we are big foodies so this really set the tone for our trip. With an hour to kill before our tee time we were crossing our fingers it would be a quick yummy experience and it didn't dissapoint. Diane the owner kindly greeted us right away and moved around the table and umbrellas in the outdoor area to ensure we were comfortable. The ambiance was super cute. She continued to check on me, I'm super pregnant which was thoughtful. I noticed she checked on everyone frequently, especially families with kiddos which is important to us. Family friendly places to eat are truly the best. Sam was our server he was so kind, funny and down to earth and continued to make sure we were taken care of consistently. My hubby ordered a salty dog, he said was great and tasted like fresh grapefruit juice. Onto the star of the show he ordered the special for the day... it should be a permanent menu item because it was truly a 10/10 that's a hard rating to come by for him and me. The chicken pesto vinaigrette sandwich was to die for!! Truly. I ordered the blackened chicken salad wrap with a side of cream of mushroom soup which was their soup of the day. The soup stole the show 9/10 SO good. The wrap was great but I regretted not double ordering the special chicken pesto sandwich. We will be back to explore the rest of the menu on our next visit into South Lake. Enjoy!!

I really enjoyed eating here. It doesn't have a ton of stuff compared to other breakfast places but the stuff they offer is very delicious. There's outdoor seating that has a little bit of shade depending on the time you go. Parking is kinda tight. Staff is friendly. We ordered a breakfast burrito, chocolate chip pancakes, ham/ eggs. They also offer lunch.

Everything here was so good all home made Family owned and warm family feeling. From the coffee to the Chilaquiles with chorizo sooo good , we stopped by on the way from leaving Tahoe . Ill be back for sure thanks for hospitality an even better home cooked food Cheers!!!!

So so yummy! There is a bit of a wait but totally worth it. And while waiting there is a coffee bar and a waiter comes around taking drinks orders. Everything is homemade and locally sourced. Best food I'd had in Tahoe. Customer service is great. Everyone was super friendly and kind. Including the owner who goes table to table.

Great food, great service. Love the outdoor seating. Showed up around 11:30 on a Saturday and it was busy so it was a 20minute wait. The owner seated us as she was also working/waitressing. Very nice lady and she explained everything on the menu. Chorizo omelet was great, but we had to try the maple bacon glazed French toast and it was so good! Really need to try to coconut version next time. One thing I loved is how crispy the home fries are, most places have home fries that are not crispy. Noticed the crowd tapered off after 12 so maybe show up after if you don't want to wait too long. Great place and can't wait to come back.

BEST CAFE IN TAHOE!! Truly an amazing experience, stayed in Tahoe for a week and went everyday for breakfast with my boyfriend and puppy Cosmo. The owner and staff are all super friendly and caring. The food is DELICIOUS, we would always get french toast, eggs and bacon. Food was always cooked to perfection. The ambiance was great everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Thank you for such a wonderful time!!

Quaint & Spacious outdoor seating. Service with a smile, and delicious food! Built your own omelette. Not a tourist trap.

Great outdoor cafe & brunch spot. The menu is extensive, with lots of options. The servers were attentive & the food was quick. I really like the cocktail menu. They have a very unique selection of mimosas among other brunch time cocktails. I look forward to coming and trying a few more out.
